Prioritized Daily Task

Continue to watch Clara and Allison

10:30 AM - Church at Abbington Memory Center (canceled because of Covid among the residents)

Note: Marion G. Romney, "Too many want to keep a summer cottage in Babalon, you want to serve the Lord without offending the Devil."

Time is the currency of life.

I can teach you to dance but can you hear the music?  Elder Wilford W. Anderson of the Quorum of The Seventy "Those who dance often appear strange or awkward to those who do not hear the music.  The dance steps require discipline but the joy of the music will only be experienced when we come to hear the music.  Sometimes in our homes, we successfully teach the dance steps but are not as successful at helping our family members hear the music.  If our family members learn the dance steps without learning to hear and feel the beautiful music of the Gospel of Jesus Christ they will in time become uncomfortable with the dance and will either quit dancing or which is almost as bad only keep dancing because of the pressure they feel from others who are dancing around them.  The dance steps of the gospel are the things we do; the music of the gospel is the joyful spiritual feeling that comes from the Holy Ghost.  We learn the dance steps with our minds but we feel the music with our hearts.  When we can hear the music ourselves we must try our best to perform it in our homes.  It is something that cannot be forced or compelled.  Our children's happiness depends on their ability to hear and love the beautiful music of the gospel."                                                                                            Getting young people to go on missions and members to pay tithing reminds me of a poster that read, "Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who could not hear the music".

I had prayer, showered, shaved, and dressed for church.  I brought the Land Rover into the garage and defrosted the windows.  I forwarded all the children a short video from the church about doing family history and work in the temple.  I had prayer with Debbie.  She and the children's church starts at 1:30 PM.  At 10:30 AM I attended Lehi 7th Ward sacrament meeting and Sunday school today.  Starting in January 2023 our services will start at 12 Noon.  We will still have the assignment to make sure the residents at Abbington Memory Center have the sacrament at 10:30 AM.  When I got home I called and talked to Ora.  She and Dan have a cold or the flu.  I called at talked to Elain, Marsha her neighbor, was there helping her put Christmas decorations up.  Debbie cooked dinner and I took two places over to Gleen and Wendy Smith.  Glenn is having chemo treatments for cancer in the liver.  He goes in this week for another round of treatments. I talked to Michael, Alex, and Beth.  I face timed with her, Tucker, Maggie, and Andrew.  I talked to Matthew.  Melodie is doing much better.  Matthew said he would try and talk to Rick and the others in his family if possible.  Debbie and I reviewed our calendars for this month and January.   Debbie and I had prayer before going to bed.
