Prioritized Daily Task
7:30 AM - plant flowers in John and
Debbie and I were up early, had prayer, showered last night, shaved this morning, and loaded the Outback with flowers, shovel, tools for planting, and fertilizer for the plants before driving over to Jon and Kari's. Debbie and I got there before Tyler left for work. We did not see Samantha until we were leaving a little after 11 AM. We got all the flowers set out and watered and fertilized them. I did not connect drip lines to water the flowers because I did not know where the control box is located and there are drip lines connected but not run to any plants or trees. Debbie is going to text Tyler to give me a call and let me know when he is home and I will come back. I will have him show me where the control panel for the sprinkler system is located and if he wants the drip lines not going to any plants capped.
Debbie told me how she and Randy were called to help with activities at the handicapped home across from the Mt. Timpanogas Temple. Randy would never go with her and she had to do it by herself. He always had to work late or did not feel like going. She thanked me for going and helping her this morning. She said the girls (granddaughters) would not have done the work we did. I told her they would but we would have had to stand over them and insist they do the planting and do it correctly or have them do it again. I remember when I had Michael and Matthew mowing the lawn and doing yard work; it was easier and quicker for me to just do it but I had them do it and do it correctly. Later after Michael left for college, it was just Matthew. I put a sprinkler system in the yard and I had Matthew dig the water line. Much of it was through solid rock he had to dig a trench. I would get him started in the mornings when I left for work and when I came home at night I would check and inspect his work. Some of the evening I would show him what had to be cut deeper in the rock for the water line. I would work with him some until it was dark. Debbie said no wonder he was able to do all the work in putting in the pool, gazebo, and landscaping at his home.
I told Tyler Traveller the same story about what his grandmother said about getting the granddaughters to help with the yard work this morning. I went over at 7 PM when Tyler got home from work. We connected all the plants to a water drip line but the main line is shut off and Tyler could not get in touch with Jon, his father. After we finished with the drip lines I helped Tyler work in Emily's room. She will be coming back home in a week or so. The lift is not installed and her bathroom is not finished. Pretty much everything else, work-wise on the house, has been completed. I came home and studied until Debbie called and I took the Outback and went over to Laura's where the shower was held for Kenna. Brenda, Mike Traveller's wife helped us load the table, chairs, utensils, etc. in the Subaru. Jodi, Brenda, and some of the granddaughters and their friends came over to the house. We unloaded the Outback; I helped Debbie put things up and we had prayer together. I read section 121 in the D&C before going to bed at 1:30 AM. I have started my fast for Emily Traveller who will be coming home in a week. The family has asked those who wish to fast and pray for her. I am still thanking Heavenly Father for all his bounteous blessings and still need His direction and guidance regarding what he wants me to do with the nursing homes, Cason Road Health Care facility, and other things he has given to me and my family.
