Matthew and Melodie McAlpin's 12 anniversary (We sent them a text)
Debbie and I had prayer, showered, ate breakfast, and got ready for church. Debbie was not feeling well so I went and picked Dan Lester. I took him to church and pushed a large comfortable chair into the chapel for Dan. I drove back to Max and Debbie's and picked Debbie up after locking the door. After the sacrament was passed Sister Natalie Eaker, Rich's wife, spoke. A quote and note from her and Rich, "Our children's first impression of Heavenly Father is how we love them." After the sacrament meeting I took Brother Lester back to Big Springs Assisted Living. Debbie. I drove back to the Cedartown Branch and Debbie and I set with Charlie and Shirley Hibbert. After Sunday School the branch had a pot luck dinner. I helped clean and put the tables up. We got back home by 2 PM. I sent Matthew and Melowie a 12th wedding anniversary wish. I sent Max and Debbie a report from the funeral yesterday. I received a picture from Catherine DuBose Purdon of a group that had gone through the Atlanta Temple that was taken several years ago. Beth face-timed me with Tucker, Maggie, and Andrew. I tried to call Michael, Matthew, and Rae Lynn but no answer. Matthew called and we facetime with him, Madeline, and Melodie before we went to bed. Debbie cooked fish for dinner. I listened to Psalms for this week's Come Follow Me lesson. Debbie and I had prayer before going to bed. Max called and we had a good visit after stake conference in Destin, FL and before Will's birthday party started.

Note: “The Prophet Joseph Smith declared—and he never taught a more comforting doctrine—that the eternal sealings of faithful parents and the divine promises made to them for valiant service in the Cause of Truth, would save not only themselves but likewise their posterity. Though some of the sheep may wander, the eye of the Shepherd is upon them, and sooner or later they will feel the tentacles of Divine Providence reaching out after them and drawing them back to the fold. Either in this life or the life to come, they will return. They will have to pay their debt to justice; they will suffer for their sins; and may tread a thorny path; but if it leads them at last, like the penitent Prodigal, to a loving and forgiving father’s heart and home, the painful experience will not have been in vain. Pray for your careless and disobedient children; hold on to them with your faith. Hope on, trust on, till you see the salvation of God.” Orson F. Whitney, in Conference Report, Apr. 1929, p. 110
