Jalna Searle, Debbie's mother, passed away at about 7:50 PM Saturday, July 2nd, at the home of Joe L. and Karlene Higham, Jalna's youngest daughter. I am glad Debbie could be there when she passed. They are having her funeral today at the stake center the nearest church building to her home.
Viewing at 9:30 AM at her ward building in Lehi
Family prayer 10:30 AM
12:30 PM and grave dedication by Joe L.
Debbie and I were up early, had prayer, showered and got ready for the day. Neither of us slept well last night. We went with Karlene, Joe L., Reed, and Relief Society sister met at the church and started setting up displays etc. The ward had set up rectangular tables but the table cloths were for round tables. I helped put the rectangular tables up and get out and set up the round tables, about 18 of them that seat about 7 people each. Debbie was the first to speak; most of the family had a part on the program, even the 64 great-grandchildren. There were many family and friends came. Her Aunt Joann, about 95 years old, who grew up with Jalna thinking they were sisters. Elisa Sealander, a niece, flew into Salt Lake from back east last night and rented a car. She picked Joann up this morning at her home in Downy, ID. After the funeral, Debie and I were the last ones to level the church building. She wanted to make sure the building was clean and things were back in place before we left. We met Katie and Karlene at Jalna's home. A restoration company was over getting ready to dry out the upstairs and downstairs, get ready of wet, mold and bad materiel out of the house and replace with new and clean ceiling, carpet, and other floorings, wall, etc material. Debbie and I did not get back to Lehi until late. It was after midnight before we got to bed.
