Prioritized Daily Task
I slept well last night but it was a short night. Alex knocked on the door at 8 AM and wanted to know if I would like to study scripture with her and Traven at 10 AM. I went back to bed for 30 minutes, showered, shaved, and got dressed. I packed; Debbie called and we had prayer. Owen, Maggie, Madeline, and Bella went back to their rooms. Beth brought Andrew over for him to stay with me while she took Maggie, Madeline, and Bella to get their hair done. Alex ordered breakfast for us with room service. I copied some of the notes I made from our meetings this week; the main one was yesterday. Some of the items covered were: renovating or rebuilding the Sandmont/Dade County nursing home which would include purchasing a larger tract of land with water and sewer; 10-year GA Property Tax Covenant that renews January 1, 2024, and the 60 acres Ora and I own. Ora wants the 60 acres divided and her half deeded to Susan and Amy, her daughters. The question of Jason Lively, my nephew, and the acre of land that dad, James Olin McAlpin, promised Jason if he would build on the land near his home. Dad wanted Jason to live near him and Mom to take care of them when they got old. That never happened and Dad and Mom have both passed away. I assume that offer has long been taken off the table; I want to get all the timberland we own planted in Long Leaf Pines; we discussed the $1,000,000 life insurance policy and what it is to be used for, the cabin in Timber Lake, Heber, UT, and the Long Term Care Insurance Policy. Some of the items we did not get to were turning Cason Road/Cedartown Nursing into a drug rehab center; staffing and filling the new nursing home bed in Rockmart; and regarding A&M Investments, my partners, James Morris and Wayne Abercrombie have passed on (died) and their widows are not in good health there is no good reason to continue to the partnership/LLC but divide the assets among the 3 families. I would like to cover these in the next meeting and talk about the direction everyone would like to go regarding the healthcare facilities. Are we content to continue to rent or would we like to grow, expand, and maybe manage them and other homes? We had prayer and listened to some of 2nd Kings until breakfast arrived. Matthew was sick from something he ate last night. I visited and prayed with him before checking out and catching a shuttle with Michael, Autumn, Alex, Gavin, and Manwell. I sat beside Autumn on the way to Cancun Airport. She had a lot of things on her mind. She handles things well and avoids confirmation by not venting her frustrations where others would be defensive. The shuttle dropped us off at the airport. I checked one bag and took my computer bag with me on the plane. I only had to wait for a little over 30 minutes before boarding. My Delta flight was direct to Salt Lake City. Debbie picked me up. She is doing great but still sore and in pain. I checked the plants and sprayed the grape vines again. I texted everyone when I got home. All the children and grandchildren except Alex who came back to Provo were still traveling. Debbie had prepared dinner for me. It was on a plate in the refrigerator. I heated it and we ate and talked about the week. We had prayer together before going to bed.
