Note: 1 Kings 17: 1 And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, King of Isreal and husband of Jezebel, as the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.
3 And the Lord said unto Elijah, Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
5 So he went and did according unto the word of the Lord: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
6 And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.
7 And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.
8 ¶ And the word of the Lord came unto Elijah, saying,
9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.
10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.
11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.
12 And she said, As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.
The choice not to take prophetic counsel changes the ground upon which we stand; that ground becomes more dangerous. The failure to take prophetic counsel lessens our power to take inspired counsel in the future. Henry B. Eyring, Dec 21, 2015. Make no mistake about it, brothers and sisters, in the months and years ahead, events are likely to require each member to decide whether or not he will follow the First Presidency. Members will find it more difficult to halt longer between two opinions. Neal A. Maxwell, 10 Oct. 1978
14 For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.
15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house did eat many days.
16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Elijah.
The choices we make determine our future, always choose the right and follow the prophet; if not all the time, many of the times it will test our faith.
I had my personal prayer and later Debbie called and we visited. Her mother is not eating and drinking very little fluids. The nurses are keeping her on morphine so she is not in pain. I went and saw Brad Gale, PA who is working under Dr. Cheryl Johnson, MD. I gave him copies of the article by Dr. Joseph Mercola, and my Life Line Screening report, as well as my glucose blood sugar test results since March 2021. He ordered some blood work and after the blood was drawn, I went to the Legacy Center to exercise and walk. I called and talked to Elain and Ora today. Elain is in a lot of pain and not much the doctors can do with her back but she can have knee surgery. I got my hair cut and came home. I ate brunch and took the vitamins, minerals, and Ivermectin for inflammation. Later Max Kimball called and I drove up to Salt Lake City to see him, his wife, Debbie, daughter, Faith, her husband Jason, and their son, Kimball. They had spent the day with President M. Russell Ballard and Gregg Cook, one of Max and Debbie's missionaries in Sweden. Gregg is the Founding Executive & Chairman of the Board at doTERRA International. The apartment at City Park on South Temple has large windows facing the Salt Lake Tempe to the West. I tried to send him a picture and text of Rajesh (Yaknath) Adhikari, who is a Strategic Sourcing Specialist for doTERRA, and Rajesh's wife, Pallavi (KC) Adhikari. I met on 29 Sep. 2019 at church in Nepal. I do not think the text and picture went through to Gregg. I got back home. Richard Clark called today and he is not coming up this weekend. He is trying to get the concrete poured for the floor of his new home he is building. I read and later talked to and had prayer with Debbie.
