*Note: I heard something today that is so true, "it feels so good to be exhausted from doing the Lord's work". I remember days when Michael, Matthew, Beth, and Rae Lynn were young at home. I would get up early and drive two hours to attend a ward or branch in our stake and work with the leaders and members until the afternoon, then drive home. On other days meetings would start early and last until close to midnight and I would drive home. Later when Debbie and I were serving as missionaries in the Adriatic North Mission our days would start at 4 AM and not end sometimes until 2 AM. Mirko and Ljubica Jelicic worked helping us and never faltered. Yes, it is very true, it is a good feeling to be exhausted in the work of the Lord. The story of Elder David B. Haight born 2nd September 1906 told the story of a new Model T Ford his dad bought. He was so taken with it that all he wanted to do was drive the Motel T. He watched his dad and felt sure he could do it. One day when no one was around he took the crank and gave it a pull with all his might. The engine sputtered and then started. He got in and started driving. He was having the time of his life until he realized he did not know how to stop it. He was scared and did not know what to do, but then an idea came to him. He knew the Model T could not run if there was no. gas, so he drove around the neighborhood until it ran out of gas. Then he walked home to see his father. This is a good analogy for our prophets and apostles today. They don't seem to ever stop; they just keep going until one day they run out of gas and go home to see their Father.
I was up at 5:30 AM, had prayer, took the garage and recycle material that accumulated over the weekend to the street with the other garage, and recyclable items before the city picks them up today.
I answered Alex and Gavin's text they sent. Gavin said his parent probably will not be back until Saturday.
I received a letter from Continental General Insurance Company, P.O. Box 203098, Austin, Texas 78720-3098 about my long-term care insurance policy I took out on September 1, 2000, policy number K-000022971. I spoke with Susan. She reviewed the policy with me; there is a 30 elimination (deductable) and the policy starts paying on the 31st day in a nursing home, assisted living, etc. The escalation for inflation is now up to $279 a day. It is a lifetime policy and does not cap or stop until I pass away. I asked about Patricia K. McAlpin and she is on a separate policy, number K-000022970. Her terms and benefits are slightly different than mine. Even though I paid for the policy they are only allowed to give me or anyone else information without her consent. They are sending forms to be completed that will allow others to receive information about the policies.
I went to the Legacy center to exercise and to return the door lock to Best Buy.
After lunch, I reset the Champion Garage Door Opener, both remotes, one on the door panel and the other over the sun visor in the car. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWDG5ze-_n8. for keyboard and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkAKi6h67yY. for over sun visor
I went to Best Buy and returned the digital door lock. Then to Home Depot and exchanged 5 cable clamps and donated $1 for 2 rolls of 4.5 in. X 20 ft. grass/weed edging. I got home and Melisa came by with Alex Gourley in her grandfather's little convertible sports car. I worked in the backyard. Things are beginning to come together. I quit when the sun started going down and it was getting cold. I went in and found some BOQ leftover before Debbie left to go to Idaho. I heated some of it and took it to our neighbor, Michael, to taste and let me know if it is still good, not spoiled. He and his wife smelled and tasted and said it is good. I listened to Jared Halverson, podcast of Joshua in Come Follow Me this week.
