Debbie was up early this morning; we had prayer together and Debbie made breakfast for everyone. We got ready and drove to the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home a block or more from the Provo City Temple for Spencer Gourley's funeral. Jody rode with us and we saved a couple of seats for Jared and Jami. The service started at 11 AM and was not over until about 2:30 PM. Roger Gourley, an uncle conducted. George Sr. spoke first, then a musical How Great Thou Art by the congregation, Karl Jensen, an uncle, spoke, George Gourley Sr. gave life sketch, George Jr., Spencer's brother, spoke, Taylor Gourley another brother spoke, Jodi Traveller, and aunt, played piano and Alex Gourley, a nephew, played the trombone, Moonlight Sonata of Beethoven's, Ben Gourley a brother spoke, Nicole Broderick a sister spoke and Elene Gourley his mother was the concluding speaker. The closing hymn was All Creatures of Our God and King, benediction was given by Jo Francks, Spencer's aunt. From the funeral home, we drove over to the Provo Cemetery where George Jr., Spencer's brother dedicated the grave. Afterward, Debbie and I came home and had lunch. Many of the group went to the church where food was served. The children and grandchildren that had not got their clothes came by the house and picked them up before going home. Debbie and I had prayer. Last night was a short night and went to bed about 8 PM.
